Denise

Denise and Mark chose to get married at the beautiful and majestic Dromoland Castle in Co. Clare, Ireland. Having already experienced the excellent service provided by the staff at a New Years Eve ball, coupled with the fact that Denise knew she wanted to wear a big white dress on her big day, where better to hold the wedding than a castle!

Denise chose Stewart Parvin to design her a bespoke bridal gown, suitable for the stunning surroundings of the Dromoland Estate, and one that would create the look she wanted – that of a timelessly beautiful bride.

“What initially drew me to Stewart was the elegance of his designs. I loved the beauty in their simplicity. A ‘simple’ dress cannot hide, it has to be expertly made and it has to fit. You couldn’t help but notice his craftsmanship. I also found Jamie, the bridal boutique manager, an absolute dream to work with. Stewart and Jamie listened to me, and helped bring the vision I had of the dress to life”

The dress was a full skirted, silk faille and duchess satin gown, worn with a tulle jacket with a stunning 50’s style off the shoulder cuff, which overlaid the bodice, and was finished by a simple grosgrain bow belt (Wild Strawberries) at the waist.

Together with their planner Kate, Denise and Mark created an elegantly romantic aesthetic for their wedding day, covering the venue in flowers and candles, and complimenting Denise’s classic wedding dress with elegantly simple bridesmaids dresses in shades of deep berry. Denise’s flowers also reflected the soft romantic theme, her own bouquet being a frothy mixture of wines, plush pinks and white and her bridesmaids carrying simple posies of gypsophillia.

“The ceremony was the most memorable part of the day. It was such a lovely mixture of emotion, love and laughter. From Father Liam Enrights diabetic alarm going off mid ceremony and the congregation having a good giggle, to when he surprised Mark and I by reading the poem “These Hands” to us at the top of the alter, to the beautiful rendition of “Voice of An Angel” by Catriona Fallon that made me cry.

My favourite moment overall however, was after we walked down the aisle. Mark and I got straight into a 1970’s E Type Jag and drove off, waving at our guests. He stopped the car at the end of the lane for a moment and said “come here and give me a kiss”. I did, and we just smiled at each other before he continued to drive off. I’ll remember that moment between us forever”.
