The Couture Bridal Service

Making each of the Stewart Parvin collections, couture womenswear and designer bridalwear, in London has distinct advantages. Not only does our designer bridalwear collection benefit from the option for brides to completely customise any of Stewarts original wedding dress designs to something completely bespoke, but we can work with clients on an entirely couture basis, meaning that their wedding gown is a complete one off.

Perhaps you’ve always dreamed of your wedding dress a very particular style, maybe you’ve been looking in a few London bridal boutiques and can’t find anything that matches up to your expectations, or maybe you want to put yourself entirely in the hands of a bridal designer, and get the best possible advice available to you on the perfect bridal gown for you.  Whatever your reasons, choosing to have a couture bridal gown designed and made for you, is an experience that you will never forget.  The process begins with an appointment with our bridal boutique manager at our showroom on Beauchamp Place for an initial consultation – you will try on a few shapes and fabrics, to see what works well for you, and to help you think about what you like, and don’t like!

Stewart will be briefed on your wedding, and initial appointment and you will be invited in to meet him, and discuss your ideas for your wedding gown further. He will draw some designs of couture wedding gowns for you as you sit with him, and can incorporate your requirements into his designs as appropriate. He also may ask you to try on further shapes, so he can see what works well for you.

Our couture bridal gown service could also include our team sourcing a particular fabric from our mills in Italy or France, commissioning our embroiderers to produce some swatches for you to approve the embellishment on your gown, or our pattern cutters working on a brand new silhouette of wedding gown for you – the sky really is the limit.

Stewarts couture wedding gown designs are beautifully understated, and endlessly elegant – and so the fit of the gown is of absolute importance, and as such you will have several calico fittings prior to us starting to make your wedding gown in the fabric you have selected. Stewart will attend as many of your fittings as is necessary to achieve absolute perfection of fit and finish. Don’t be surprised if your gown is made in stages, we will fit calicos initially, then the basic shape of the gown, in order to absolutely perfect the silhouette and ensure your complete happiness with it, before moving onto add the finishing touches.

The couture bridal gown service is available from our London bridal boutique at 17 Beauchamp Place,  please get in touch to discuss your requirements.

Our London Bridal Boutique

Our London bridal boutique is a relaxed and chic environment, perfect for brides to be to select their wedding gown in total privacy.  Located on Beauchamp Place, just around the corner from Harrods in London’s Knightsbridge, the boutique carries our entire bridal mainline, and also a capsule collection of exquisite couture wedding gowns.

The bridal collection is chic, understated and elegant – perfect for the modern bride who wants to feel effortlessly, classically bridal, and who is looking for a perfectly fitted, stunningly constructed wedding dress.

Your appointment with us will be conducted in one of our completely private rooms on the fitting floor.  After reviewing the bridal gowns in the showroom with one of our experienced team, you will be able to try on as many styles as you wish. Our bridal experts will help you narrow down your choices as you try, such as silhouette, and silk preferences before discussing the finer details of the gown that you love.

All our wedding gowns are made in London, by our expert seamstress and technical team. As such, we are able to offer our brides a great deal of flexibility, and bespoke options in the style of gown they chose. Choosing a bridal gown based on one from our collection, you may decide a different neckline suits you better, or a slightly differently shaped skirt. Allow our bridal team to guide you, and keep an open mind!

You will have at least two calico fits prior to your bridal gown being made in the fabric you have selected. A calico (or toile) is a knee length cotton mock up of your wedding dress, made from a pattern that our pattern cutters create from your measurements.  After this fitting, we will make up a second calico, to check the adjustments that have been made on the first. Your final silk fittings, will be your actual bridal gown, and any alterations to this will be carried out personally by the fitter who has seen you, on the premises in our own bridal boutique.

At your final fitting, we will teach you how to dress in the gown correctly on your wedding day, and will show a member of your bridal party exactly how to do up your wedding gown. We will also provide you with a guide to show exactly where the internal corset should be laced up to – to ensure the gown fits absolutely perfectly on the day.

All that remains is to collect your gown approximately a week prior to your wedding, packed beautifully for you, ready to wear on your special day.
